If you are one of the growing number of Americans who believe that good health begins with healthy food choices, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and wish you a long, healthy, and prosperous life. 

If you are like me, you probably have begun to do a lot of label reading at the supermarket to assure yourself that you are making the healthiest food choices for you and your family.  You might even be much more comforted when you see the word “natural” on the label. You probably believe as I did for quite some time that the word “natural” means that you will not be eating anything artificial.  This, however, is unfortunately not the case.

In my estimation the most unnatural foods on the planet are GM (genetically modified) foods.  Did you know that these foods which contain mutated DNA and proteins are allowed to be labeled as natural?

The FDA unleashed GMO foods on the public and did so without any labeling to inform consumers what it was that they were buying.  They have seen fit to do this even though there have been no human safety studies done.  The only studies have been animal studies, and these have revealed a plethora of adverse health problems.  This human experiment on a global scale will doubtless prove to be the worst health and environmental mistake in the history of humanity. 

Since the FDA chose to release these foods on consumers everywhere without labeling, it is imperative that you take the necessary precautions to protect you and your family from these dangerous abominations that have permeated our food supply. 

Try to buy certified organic products since they cannot intentionally include any GMO ingredients. Look for labels that say “100 percent organic,” “organic,” or “made with organic ingredients.”  You should also keep your eyes open for non GMO project seals.  When foods boast these seals they are verified to be in compliance with the only North American standard for GMO avoidance. 

In this writer’s opinion, when the FDA chose to foist this human experiment on its unsuspecting citizenry, they denied us one of the most fundamental and basic rights that all men and women should possess without compromise.  That is the right to know and choose what foods you put in your body and the right not to be used as a human guinea pig without your consent.  If someone “slipped you a Mickey” you would be understandably upset.  It is a very bad thing when someone knowingly alters your beverage with an unknown and undesirable substance.  It is even worse when the government alters the totality of the food supply with dangerous, unproven, and untested genetically modified food and doesn’t tell you about it, much less give you the chance to say no to it. 

It is of utmost importance that we individually, and as a nation, stand up and make our voice heard about this horrible abuse of power and demand labeling of the foods that we buy so that we can make an informed choice about what it is we are feeding ourselves and our families.  When polled, eight out of ten Americans would shun GMO food if they had the chance.   Let us make dead sure we are given that chance.

Farmers have for many years planted seeds in the spring, harvested in the fall, and after harvest reclaimed seeds for replanting in the next season.  This practice is not only sensible, but economical as well.  That has all changed with the huge growth of the Monsanto company.

Monsanto has developed a genetically engineered seed that is able to resist the company’s own weed killer, Roundup.  With the patenting of this genetically engineered seed an evil genie was let out of the bottle and it will probably be impossible to ever undue the consequences.  Of course the consequences range from grave health concerns to an environmental nightmare, but this article is focusing on another issue that must not be forgotten.

Farming Will Never Be The Same

Due to the patent of these genetically engineered seeds, the farmers who buy them must sign an agreement that they will never reuse the seed or sell it to another farmer.  This means that new seed must be purchased every year.  Monsanto has cashed in big on this monopoly.  Seed sales and Roundup sales are booming and Monsanto has become an evil empire that will change the face of our environment.  Monsanto has plenty of thugs on their payroll to demand strict compliance to the rules in the United States and around the world.  Even if you are a farmer that does not use Monsanto’s genetically altered seeds and have no intention of ever using them, you might very easily find yourself under the mighty arm of Monsanto when the wind, or birds, or water carries the unwanted seeds into your fields.  Monsanto only needs to pull a sample from your field and if it is shown to contain his seeds, you will find yourself in a legal battle that you do not have the resources to win.  Monsanto will by all means protect it’s patent and certainly has the money and power to do so every time.

In Pursuit Of A Monopoly On The World’s Food Supply

The Monsanto company presents itself as an agricultural company who is engaged in the fight against world hunger.  Do not be fooled by this PR campaign.  This company has no desire whatsoever to end world hunger, but rather is interested in profits and profits alone.  Monsanto does not even so much as donate any of it’s genetically modified seeds to help in the battle against world hunger.  Actually they do the opposite.  Monsanto has been busy buying up seed companies all around the world and strong-arming farmers everywhere to protect it’s patents.  The Monsanto company knows that if it owns the seed market then it controls the world’s food supply.  The ramifications of the growth of this evil empire are ghastly to contemplate. 

Terminator Seeds

Monsanto’s purchase of the Delta & Pine Land company has birthed the proliferation of terminator seeds.  Delta & Pine Land as long been working with our very own USDA on genetically modified seeds and much of their work has centered around the development of these terminator seeds.  This will save Monsanto a ton of money since he will no longer need to police all the farms around the world to make sure they are not selling his patented monopoly.  These seeds have been developed to literally commit suicide after the harvesting season and therefore there is no danger that farmers will save and reuse the seed the next growing season.  They will have to go back to Monsanto and pay the piper year after year after year after year.  All Monsanto really has to to now is to kick back and wait for it’s seeds to contaminate every field on the globe and then sue each farm found to contain it’s genetically modified abominations.  It is really quite a simple plan but greed is the very essence of it.

No Help From The U.S. Government

Monsanto has already placed the United States Government in their hip-pocket through direct donations to both the Democratic party and the Republican party as well as huge dollars spent on lobbying.  The government is now a pawn of this evil empire and this should make sane people tremble.  It has been a long time since the government in America has feared the people which would mean liberty, instead we have learned to fear the government which adds up to tyranny.  A tyrannical government controlled by an evil empire cannot be a good thing for America or the world. If the track record of Monsanto and our Federal Government were studied, thinking people would naturally fear this union. 

According to polls over 80% of Americans would not buy genetically modified foods if they were labeled as such.  Nevertheless these same Americans are actually unknowingly ingesting these dangerous GMOs in over 60% of the food they buy at the grocery store.  The health hazards of ingesting these genetically alterated foods are not fully known as of yet but all evidence points to these GE seeds being very very bad for humans and animals alike. 

Environmentally, the genetic pollution caused by the spread of these seeds is impossible to reverse and probably has already gone too far.  It will literally change the face of our environment and the ramifications although not fully known at this writing are nevertheless quite frightening. 

The seed terminator technology has effectively created a growing monopoly and one single point of control for food, namely, Monsanto.  The reverberations of this alone should cause great concern among thinking people everywhere.

Say No To GMO’s

We must stand up and use what is left of our freedom in this country to make a strong unified statement against unlabeled GM foods in our grocery stores.  Every bit of genetically altered food sold in America should naturally be labeled since over 80% of Americans would not purchase these foods if they knew what they were made from.  We must demand truthful labeling of these foods and then refuse to buy them if they have been genetically altered.  It is that simple and yet it would be detrimental to the further success of the evil Monsanto Empire. 

Please become informed about GMOs and then make your voice heard.  Nothing less than a united stand against this evil will suffice.  Will you stand up and do your part to stop this poisoning of the environment, humans, and animals, and this company’s desire to control the world’s food supply?

Genetically Modified Foods Vs Genetic Selection

The GMO (genetically modified organism) poison pushers have put a spin on words that you should know about.  They claim that we should have no fear about this poison being foisted on unsuspecting humans around the world because they claim that almost all foods are genetically modified and have been for many years.  This reference, however, is really a blatant lie since they are actually talking about genetic selection.  Genetic selection for instance occurs when you save the seeds from an exceptional, great tasting apple and plant them in order to reap an exceptional apple crop.  This actually works in harmony with nature and is distinctly different from the genetic engineering that is actually being done to plants today.  In this dangerous movement engineers artificially insert genetic code into the DNA of the plant.  This changes the very nature of the plant unlike genetic selection.

When a GMO poison pusher claims that there are many foods which have been genetically modified he is doing nothing in the world but putting a spin on words and hoping you won’t notice.  What is being done to plants all around the world through genetic modification is nothing short of criminal and should never be confused with genetic selection such as planting the best seeds from a crop to produce the next generation of excellent food.

Terminator Technology

One of the crimes of the GMO industry has to do with the above explained genetic selection to produce good crops. The industry does not want you to be able to save your seeds to plant another generation of crops.  They use Genetic Use Restriction Technology (GURT) better known as “terminator technology” in order to cause second generation seeds to be sterile. 

You don’t have to put on your thinking cap for very long to discern why they use this terminator technology.  If you put a halt to seed saving and planting second generation seeds you have effectively built a monopoly on the seeds.  The farmers have to come back to you year after year to purchase your product, even if it is poison.  It is not hard to imagine where this type of thinking will lead the planet in which we live. 

Our earth could very easily become one huge genetic experiment and this experiment is being conducted by folks interested in making a bunch of money.  Greed will not produce good results when the experimental field is our planet. GMO’s are not limited to one corn field for instance since these organisms can spread through nature and breed with other natural organisms.  This is a contamination of even non genetically engineered environments threatening the planet in which we live with full blown “genetic pollution” and once polluted it is a process impossible to reverse.

The companies who stand to make huge profits by this genetic altering of our food supply have a vested interest in keeping us all in the dark about what is actually going on and we the public are being denied the right to even know about genetically modified organisms which have invaded our food chain.  We are therefore being denied the right to avoid them. 

For the sake of yourself, your family, your country and the welfare of this planet we must all stand up and strongly protest the altering of the DNA of our food supply.  The consequences of our allowing this to continue will almost certainly prove disastrous.

In virtually all tests done on laboratory rats given GM foods,  infant mortality and reproductive disorders have followed.  This coincides with incidences of low birth weight, infirtility, and infant mortality escalating in the United States as GM food becomes part of every American diet.

Food Is Now Registered As A Pesticide

It might surprise you to know that when insects get a mouthful of GM Bt (Bacillius thuringiensis) corn or cotton, they also get a mouthful of a built-in toxin, which is actually being produced by every cell of the genetically altered plant.  Engineers have figured out a way to insert genes into the very DNA of the plant so that the plant itself becomes an insect killing pesticide.  When the insect takes a bite out of the genetically altered plant, the poison splits open their stomach and kills them.  The GM plants themselves are registered as pesticides by the Environmental Protection Agency. 

Engineers claim that this Bt-toxin is proven safe due to its extensive use among farmers for insect control.  The difference is, however, that in the case of GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) engineers insert genes from the bacteria into the very DNA of the corn or cotton so that the plants themselves become the killing machines.

Please understand that Bt-toxin produced in GM plants is thousands of times more concentrated than than that which is sprayed on plants to control bug infestation and is designed to be more toxic.  Also the spray can be washed off of the plant unlike the GM food which cannot be washed off since it is actually now a part of the cellular structure of the plant. But even though the genetically altered food is many times more harmful than the spray, please keep in mind that even the less concentrated bacterial spray has been shown to be extremely harmful.

GM Crops Kill Animals

Bt cotton and corn plants are responsible for the deaths of thousands of sheep, buffalo, cows, horses, and chickens.  Post mortems clearly show irritation and black patches in intestines and livers of the animals that grazed on these plants. 

Is it possible that humans can ingest these plants without the same health issues?  Do you want to be the next guinea pig in the engineer’s experimental lab which is taking place on farm fields all over America? 

 If you do not desire to be an experimental rat, stand up and say NO to GMO’s on the shelves of your local grocer.  If the engineers are so sure of the safety of these genetically modified plants then let them come forward along with their families and become the test rats in their own experiments.  If they prove that these killing plants are actually safe for human consumption let them reap the rewards of their engineering, but if not, let their post mortems show us all why scientists should not be genetically altering food in order to make them living insecticides, and why they should not be foisting them on society while telling us that eating these plants is actually quite safe after all.

Genetically modified foods, or genetically modified organisms (GMO’S) are now a very real part of your diet whether you know it or not.  If you eat corn, cornmeal, cornstarch, corn oil or other corn based ingredients, soybeans, soy milk, tofu, soybean oil, and other soybean based products, canola oil, cottonseed oil, sugar beets, papaya from Hawaii, and some zucchini, and yellow squash, then genetically modified foods are making up a significant percentage of your overall food consumption. 

Over half of all Americans who were polled said that they were not aware that they were ingesting these GMO’s and if they knew it, they would not do so.  Many even expressed shock over the fact that they were not the slightest bit aware that they had been ingesting this very questionable and probably downright unhealthy stuff.  The simple reason that we were not aware is because in the USA manufacturers and producers of such (food?) are not required to let us know that the food has actually been altered at the level of the DNA.  In contrast, many other countries demand that GM foods be clearly labeled as such. 

Genetically modified foods are produced by inserting genes from some other species into the very DNA of the food.  Almost two thirds of all products on the shelves of your local grocer contain at least one element that has been genetically engineered (altered).  When engineers manipulate food crops in order to make them produce their own insecticide, or make them resistant to chemical herbicides that kill other plants, a genetically modified organism which would never occur in nature is created.

The question is:  Are these GMO foods safe for human consumption?  The common sense answer to that question as far as this writer is concerned is NO.  At the very best, it should be noted that nobody has any idea as to the potential health problems associated with eating such food.  Despite many warnings of health dangers from its own scientists, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration decided to allow genetically modified foods into the marketplace without labeling or safety testing.  The genetically modified seeds that are a product of such manipulation are now planted commercially so that at this writing the majority of the soybeans, corn, cottonseed (oil), and canola (oil) that you buy are actually genetically modified, and you would have no way of knowing which products are and which ones aren’t since there is no law that requires that they be labeled as such.

Studies conducted on rats have produced evidence that should alarm consumers as to the possible dangers associated with GM food.  Rats which were fed genetically modified corn were compared to their parents who had been fed non-genetically modified corn.  Rats that had been fed the GM food produced signs of kidney and liver problems, as well as problems associated with the heart and spleen.  The parents who were not fed the GM food did not seem to have any significant rate of problems in these areas.  Other studies conducted on test rats which were fed GM food have produced evidence of various health related problems.   At this juncture we really can’t tell all of the health related problems that these foods might cause, since we ourselves are the rats in which the experiments are being conducted. 

In my personal opinion, apart from mounting evidence that we have been heading down a very slippery slope, is the innate sense that is resident in me that anytime scientists alter a God given resource such as food, that this manipulation carries with it a host of problems.  I personally am fully persuaded that a Creator God made all things perfectly, but suppose you are one who believes that all things have evolved naturally, then even if that were true, scientist have no business altering that which nature has produced.  In my opinion and based on my firm beliefs, scientists certainly cannot now, nor will they ever improve on God’s creation and we have no business manipulating the food we eat at the level of DNA.  Certainly from a health perspective nothing good can come of this.

Steps To Avoid GMO’s

1. Only buy products labeled 100% organic, or products which are certified organic since these products cannot knowingly contain any GMO ingredients.

2. Find products that carry a “Non-GMO Project Seal.”

3. Avoid products such as corn and corn based products, soy beans and soy based products, canola (oil), cottonseed (oil), sugar beets, Hawaiian Papaya, zucchini and yellow squash if they do not boast the 100% organic label or do not carry the NON-GMO Project Seal.

4. Do not consume dairy products from cows injected with bovine growth hormone. 

In the end it is up to individual consumers to recognize this dangerous problem and take precautions to insure that they and their families are not placed at risk by this genetic engineering of our food supply.  It only takes a small percentage of people who refuse to buy genetically modified foods to effect a change at the level of the largest food companies.  When major food business begins to see that offering GMO’s does not pay,  they will begin to pull these dangerous foods off of the shelves, or at least begin to clearly label foods that have been thus modified. 

Since there is absolutely no regulation in place regarding the disclosure of GMO’s in the marketplace, nor any regulation regarding their sale, we as consumers must take the initiative and effect a radical change in big food business as usual.  Greed and the bottom line will continue to be the only concern of major food companies and the government is historically very easy to buy off, so your health and the health of your family will continue to be the least of their worries.  By realizing the sad truth that big food business and the government are willing to sell your health for their gain, we must stand up and say NO to genetically modified food in the marketplace.  Make your voice heard by refusing to buy the above listed products if they are not clearly labeled organic or if they are not carrying the Non-GMO Project Seal.  We must stand together and stop this madness before it progresses even further.  Please do your part and make your voice heard.
